Final steps for today..

Hope you are still awake and enjoying hacking towards your final solutions. Please review the following few things relevant for today.

  • Teams who have not submitted their code into their Opportunity Hack Github repo would not be eligible for judging.
  • Teams should be checking in their code into their Opportunity Hack Github repo before 2:00 pm.
  • All updates (including links to GitHub, presentations, team information, etc.) to ChallengePost must be submitted by hitting the "Submit For Review" or "Save" buttons by 2:45 pm to be considered for judging. One person submitting all materials is sufficient.
  • We will be preloading presentations on a single laptop by collecting them from ChallengePost.  If you are doing a live demo, you can use your own laptop.
  • Presentations or demos should be of maximum 6 minutes and must include a minimum of 2 people. There will be a 4 minutes time for answering questions by judges.
  • Please arrive at Building A auditorium, where we signed up yesterday morning. Please be there by 2.45PM to test your computer with projector. Any time taken to setup will be taken out from your presentation time limit.

Presentation/Demo

In order to be successful you need to be able to demonstrate and market your solution so that it can succeed long term

  • Do you have a working demo?
    • Do you have an elevator pitch for your target audience?

Innovation

Displaying innovative solutions to the problems

  • Do you solve the problem in a novel way?
    • Can you create a solution that is cohesive across different areas or technologies?

Accessible by the Target User Base

It’s crucial that the target user base actually has access to the technology in question

  • Can you articulate the capabilities and limitations of your userbase?
    • Does your product fit within those capabilities or work around them?

Implementable

The projects need to be able to move from "proof-of-concept" to working project

  • Is your architecture and technology extendable by others?
    • Can the project be tuned to meet different or changing needs?

Open Source

Open source solutions allow for a wider variety of contributors to be able to improve, extend and build upon.

  • Does your project leverage open source software or libraries?
    • Is your project in github?
